My mom asked if she could come up the next morning (call ended at 6pm and we lived 2.5 hrs away) to say her final goodbyes and his response was "well you're doing him a disservice keeping him alive now and we will be doing it tonight" after they just kept him alive for 10 days extra knowing his chance of survival was slim.
