My father was diagnosed with esophageal cancer. He received the greatest care from Dr Mathern and his staff. Unfortunately my father has passed. And 2 years later after his passing and on his birthday no less I was diagnosed with renal cell carcinoma. Dr Mathern and all his staff are just wonderful people. Because of them and Dr Badger(downstairs from Dr Mathern) I am so far cancer free. Dr Mathern is very good, if you ever get to see him. Front desk is awesome. The nurses that do the infusions are rough and hurt while infusing. They need to be gentle. My port still hurts. Not doing much about my pain. When I call, not answering my questions or relating messages to Dr.
My doctor left and I was told to make all requests and questions towards Dr. Mathern. I am 20 days past my prescription refill and my request for prescription renewal over a week ago. I been trying to stretch out what I had left but familiar pains are coming back. My abdominal pain varies from moderate to extreme. It is why I had two narcotic prescriptions. I suspect He wants to meet and make his own diagnosis while I suffer in pain for weeks while waiting for the next appointment.
He is thorough and so very personable. He always greets us with a smile ... and a hug.
Diagnosed with stage 3 melanoma in August of 2020. After surgery in Flagstaff Dr. Mathern suggested I have immunotherapy with Keytruda. I hesitated given my age and the potential co-pay cost. He provided excellent information on why I should proceed and convinced me to give it a go. I began receiving treatments at his clinic in Flagstaff and continued in Portland Oregon after I moved.
