After a year of severe back pain, I searched for a good doctor in hopes of some relief. I wasn’t successful until I found Dr. Gemelli. Not only was he extremely knowledgeable, experienced and informative, but he was also very kind and patient with answering all of my questions. I was very apprehensive to have injections, but he took the time to explain everything thoroughly, and the experience was much less frightening than I anticipated. Personally I have never met the man face to face or have any any discussions w him. He's a good physician but his bedside manner needs great improvement. And, of course, I have an upcoming appt w him. I just want him to be more personable. I'd like to know who's doing an invasive procedure to my spine.
My personal opinion: I last saw Dr. Gemelli in May 2020 for treatment of spinal pain that has been chronic and deteriorating for 12 years. I asked him for a “management plan” for my pain. Direct quote from him: “I don’t do management plans, just injections”. Referred me to his PA for a plan. Strangely his PA wasn’t employed in his office at the time. After seeing three different "pain" doctors for my back injury....I finally found Dr. Gemelli who actually LISTENED to me and "thought carefully" about my symptoms and I am 95% pain free now! I would recommend him VERY highly to anyone with back issues. He is a very kind man...but more than that I respect his skill and knowledge immensely. Thank you, Dr. Gemelli.
I would never recommend him to anyone. He had no bedside manner, swept in, gave me the injection, and swept out. Never said a word to me. If it weren't for the nurses it would have been a totally disastrous experience.
I went to a different doctor in WIlmington for Spinal Injections and didn't get much relief. I started going to Dr Gemelli and the difference was incredible. He has a wonderful bedside manner and my quality of life is great now. Almost painfree.
I will just say Dr. G is the best by far, he is very personable and patient and always willing to explain anything that's not understood. He's an awesome pshyisian ????
Dr. Gemelli is very good at spinal injections. Considerate and thoughtful of my pain issues. .
