Minus stars. Horrible experience. One of the great rip-offs of my Life. I needed a good pair of boots for my basic health; bad knees (arthritis & replacements) and bad back. He quickly took my $2800 and gave me the worst fitting boots/shoes of my life. One wearing and I hobbled home in agony. Peter was lightening quick to take deposit from me. But then he disaappered. After following up multiple times and 2 years of waiting, he called me for the trial. When i mentioned that I didn't like the way he shaped the shoes, he refused to make any adjustments saying it takes more time. I had no choice but to take the delivery of the clown's shoes (for $2,000) and now they are rotting up in my basement.
I commissioned a pair of bespoke dress shoes from Peter Feeney, paying a total of $3,390. Unfortunately, the experience did not meet the standards one would expect at this level of craftsmanship or price point. From the outset, communication was inconsistent and lacking. Excellent shoe maker. Have been ordering shoes from him for a while by now. As any artisans you do need to work with him to get what you want. So if you’re not accustomed to getting bespoke shoes please keep that in mind it is not your shoe mass market shoe shop - a step up from even a fancy brand.
Paid $1800 for a pair. This was not to be a fully bespoke shoe. I was ok with that. Was given a 1 to 2 months lead time. Ended up being 5 months with Peter not replying to my messages for days, sometimes weeks. When it was ready, Peter exclaimed that he had to go "fully bespoke" with these. That allayed my irritation somewhat. After some time, I couldn't break the shoe in, I brought it to him for a stretch. He said it's because he didn't go fully bespoke with them.
