I live in Phoenix, AZ, and visit my dad regularly in Coalgate, OK. When I do, Pete's Place is a must do. One of my favorite places to eat. In fact, I'm craving it right now. I always bring back some spaghetti sauce and salad dressing. Can't get enough of it.

The sauce on the Italian food was horrible there where 4 of us that ate there today it tasted like a heated up t.v dinner unbelievable

We went with a group on a Saturday afternoon, the menu for Saturday lunch is the pricy dinner menu, we ordered the grilled chicken ( approx $17.00 for one little half breast) and the Italian favorite (spaghetti/meat balls and ravioli) approx $17.00 WHICH IS SERVED AUTOMATICALLY AS A SET UP! So I never really got a meal everyone ate the set up and I was deprived a meal basically it's very strange (the menu) so if you go ask many questions BEFORE YOU ORDER!! Amazing. Our son is autistic, and 19 mo old. Being able to eat in a private dining room and close off noise and stimulation as well as the ambient lighting we controlled allowed us to eat our entire meal without having to stop midway, pack up, and leave to prevent a melt down. We even had dessert for my dad's birthday! Service was excellent. My son was an angel. And for the first time in a year we enjoyed an entire meal and conversation in peace while out in a restaurant. I have been eating at Pete's Place for about 25 years...maybe a little longer. I think the service is good and the food is amazing. I've eaten at Pete's with family, friends, co-workers, and even my students. I've never had anyone say anything negative about the food or service. I think it is one of Oklahoma's best kept secrets but you would not know that it was a 'secret' because when the doors open it is full. :)

While in the area visiting the beautiful mountain fall foliage we decided to stop in for diner on our way back to Dallas. I have to say the food was sub par; the pork chop was over cooked, ravioli was rubbery and bland, Italian salad was drowning in dressing. The service was disappointing, not friendly, no smiles or hospitality at all. The sad part for me is I am a returning customer from 20+ years ago. We were just there on the 10/10/15 to celebrate my husband graduating a school. Wonderful service and wonderful food! Can't wait to go back!
