I am Dr. Angel Baez. This morning, as I regularly do, I went to have my pet, Benjie, groomed. I must mention that after 4 hours, I arrived at the establishment to check on the status of my dog's grooming and found that he had experienced some anxiety and had defecated on the floor. It's obvious that he's an animal, and this can be common when surrounded by other dogs. I am writing this review so other pet owners can make an informed decision and avoid what happened to my dog. I brought my dog, Abbie, to this Petco location for grooming on Thursday. When she came home, she had a raw, open skin injury near her hip and tail that was absolutely not present prior to the appointment. The area was bright red, inflamed, and painful looking—consistent with a grooming-related injury such as clipper burn or a grooming-triggered hot spot. This is not a mild irritation. I have shopped at Petco in Delafield for over a decade- already, I know they aren’t par to the local natural pet food stores- but I’ve shopped there for various supplies, and a couple cute lil beta fish we’ve had over the years. Today was an experience out of the Twilight Zone. We have beta fish- one we’ve had for years, and the other that we had for 3 1/2-4 years recently died. I purchased 500 count mealworms from Petco Coeur d'Alene Idaho. It was over $13. They must not rotate or take any care because most were dried up and dead. I feel like I did not get my money's worth. I set them out, put some carrot strips and some of the gel that holds water and they went nuts over it. So many dry / dead one's work to the surface. Will not buy again.
