We were on vacation when our dog became ill. We went to an emergency vet where we were travelling and were told that our dog had a splenic tumor and we could either euthanize him or have him go through surgery to remove the tumor. The vet told us that the tumor was most likely cancerous because he was in pain. We did not live in the area so we talked the vet into letting us take him to our vet closer to home. I bought a beautiful Yorkie named Teddy in early October. I had him less than 48 hours and I could see him declining by the hour so I called Pet Specialists of Monterey and they told me to bring him right over. It was 9:00pm so my regular vet was closed. They met me at my car and did some testing right there . It came out positive for parvovirus. We were devastated. But over the 11 days he was there they kept me updated on everything.
