Worked here and know it's the best there is! – In the interest of full disclosure, I have worked here for Leslie. That being said I know exactly what this place is all about, and I know that you could not be leaving your pet in better hands than when you choose the PSR. Leslie is the owner and she lives on site. When she is not at the kennel, she is consistently checking the webcams to make sure that everything is going smoothly. Fantastic--Much better than the competition – There are several places in Dayton that board pets. However, many of them leave your dogs in the cage the entire time or only let them out to walk on a leash. Not Pet Shack Resort! They let the dogs run several times a day in their play areas. They even have Pet Cams on their website to see the dogs in the play yard. My kids love to check out what the dogs are doing while we are on vacation (ok you caught me, I like to do it too.) This place is GREAT! – Our pets love The Pet Shack! We have been going there for 10 years and have always had a great experience! They are much more reasonably priced than those corporate places and the owner lives right on the property! We never worry when Sammy and Sally stay there! Our dogs just run right in the door!

Pet Shack Resort Review – In 2007 our dog was boarded for an overnight stay. About an hour after we dropped our dog off, we got a call that he needed to go to the vet because he and another dog were fence fighting, and the other dog got ahold of our boxer's tongue and almost completely severed it. The emergency surgery was very costly and we spent weeks using a turkey baster to give him water. There was no admission of any wrong doing or responsibility for anything that had occured. This Place is Fantastic! – This place is the best place I have ever left my dog! He goes out to exercise in a giant play yard 4 times every day! They keep their runs so clean! They give the best bathes in town...my dog always smells and looks so good! They really know how much I love my dog and he just loves them! He drags me in the door because he is so excited to be there! Can't say enough about what great people they have there!

Not Recommended - Messed Up Our Dog's Medication – This October we left our dog at The Pet Shack Resort for eight days. When we picked him up we learned that they had doubled one of the seizure prevention medications he gets for epilepsy. He was very groggy, and during his stay we think he fell and reinjured a hip that he has had problems with in the past (likely because he was so groggy from the overdose). Anyone who has dealt with epileptic dogs knows that they are very sensitive to their medication. As of now it is two we... read more
