I've had service with Peru Utilities my entire life. They are easy to work with, have low rates and respond quickly when there are issues. The entire utility is right here and accountable locally. The difference between them and national level utilities is stark. Duke Energy takes months to get anything done, and good luck escalating any issue.
I never have any problems with this place. They are the most economical electric company in the area. I pay accounts for Duke and Heartland REMC.
I have several accounts and have had service for many years and only had one complaint . I explained my complaint and they marked it in my account notes if I ever had a leak at a rental to call me 1st vs leaving a note on tenants door because I pay the water not tenants.
I was expecting bad service because of all the negative reviews and was instead pleased with the friendless and welcoming atmosphere. It is my first time getting service with this company, and I'm glad my experience was great. I was able to get service running same day I applied for.
Good luck if you’re trying to get ahold of someone to set up utilities when moving from out of state. They won’t answer the phone or return voicemails. They’ll also charge you a $275 deposit to turn on utilities just because you haven’t had service with them in the previous 12 months. Incompetence and laziness at its finest.
Peru Utilities has a 2.3 star rating with 36 reviews.
