I paid my bill on 11/25. I paid the past due balance for October. That kept me good. I’ve always done that. I get paid twice a month. I get a notification yesterday that if I don’t come up with Novembers bill, by the 19th, my electric is going to get shut off. Ok wonderful! Since when is being a month behind a disconnect able offense?? My December bill isn’t even due until the end of the month. So only November’s is due. If I could give this company a zero start review I would. This is highway robbery and no one should have to deal with this especially after losing both parents in a little over a year. I know for a fact that payment plans are offered but was being told that my sister not only cannot have her utilities turned back on but has to pull 3k out of thin air. I really don't see how it's legal to charge someone 200 dollars just to have electricity these people are thieves back in my home town it's only 40 dollars to have electricity an it's still in Indiana I really don't see how these people get away with it my bills almost 500 dollars an there's no way I use that much a mouth just ridiculous

I've had service with Peru Utilities my entire life. They are easy to work with, have low rates and respond quickly when there are issues. The entire utility is right here and accountable locally. The difference between them and national level utilities is stark. Duke Energy takes months to get anything done, and good luck escalating any issue.
