Just moved into town from Los Angeles! I absolutely love Dr Wilbur and his staff! My sister has 3 boys, they all see Dr. Wilbur, she referred me to the office. My insurance has yet to kick in and they STILL took us. He s incredibly intelligent, very professional, and was so sweet and gentle with my 4 week old son. All my questions were thoughtfully answered and I felt very comfortable. Despite the above mentioned, Dr. Wilbur WAS supportive of my breastfeeding. My sister says the same. absolutely LOVE this pediatrician. He is awesome with children. Dr. Wilbur has been the doctor of both my children, his dad delivered my son . He is very good with children.
Being a new mother I was confused and tired, as all new mothers are. I wanted to breast feed which he wasnt supportive of, infact, he practley wanted to force me to breast feed and used this tactic to try to make me feel guilty if I didnt. I was pumping my milk at the time because I needed help with latching on instead of helping me with the problem, he told me that pumping was useless. I absolutely LOVE this pediatrician. He is awesome with children. Dr. Wilbur has been the doctor of both my children for years. My son has tics associated with tourettes syndrome, galactosemia and ADHD. My daughter is also a cardiac patient and I couldnt imagine them going to any other doctor. Yes, he is a nut! He does whatever it takes to get a childs attention, make them comfortable and make them like him. Hes even sat and played with mine. He is not rude in any way and his staff is great. We are new to Mountain Home and Dr. Wilburs office was gracious enough to take my daughter on short notice. Shes diabetic and had a respiratory infection which was causing her blood sugar to do crazy things. He has been kind, informative, and very professional. Having said that hes bedside manner is a little quarky and I can see how it might come off as aloof, but I think it is more a result of his trying to concentrate, take notes, and answer questions that may or may not be presented as clear.
