A long time ago as a young man I hired John Jay Avril to represent me in a vehicle accident. The opposing party’s insurance company made a great first offer and Avril turned it down. He said there’s more money. When they offered less the second offer he did not bother asking to just settle to the original offer he instead took it a step further to a litigation meeting at which his percentage now went to 40% instead of the 33% at the beginning.
