Francesco Gaetano Pepicelli left Calabria, Italy in and around 1906 to start a new life in America. Little did he realize he was bringing my future with him, for he is the great-grandfather of my lovely wife, Lisa. We could think of no more fitting a name for our little business than the proud name of this wonderful man. By far, this is the best catering experience my company has ever had!! We ordered catering from Pepicelli's for lunch today, and ordered a variety of pastas (try the baked ziti!), salads (the presentation was beautiful!) cheesy bread sticks (delicious), and pepperoni pizza (one of the best!). The owners were very friendly and helpful in the ordering process, the food was on time, and it was still piping hot when I got back to the office. The sauce is bitter and the crust is soggy and sour. They claim to be NY style but are far from it. The owners are dishonest and take the drivers tips. They claim they have been voted best pizza. I worked for the company that hosts that competition and all the ballots come from the owners stuffing the ballot box. Don't waste your time. There are plenty of other pizza places in town much better than this.
we are from Florida and are staying at a hotel in Ashland. we looked up pizza places and this was the first one. being Italian and a pizza lover, I must say the pepperoni pizza I got was great, fresh got eaten in about 10 minutes and a fantastic price! ~amber from vero!
Buffalo has to take a back seat to Pepicelli's wings. The slash cottage is a deli sandwich paradise. We have found our perfect stop for our wing fix. Toby give's the Philly cheese steak 2paws up.
We LOVE Pepicellis NY style pizza! Whenever we have a pizza craving, no other pizza will do. It is obvious that all of the ingredients are the freshest and each pie is assembled with care. If you go, you MUST try the meatball topping...They are smalll, handmade and seasoned to perfection! Who needs pepperoni?
I don't know how acceptable it is these days to be a pizza snob. I've got my mind made up about what makes for some good pizza, though-- it's all about the dough. The dough is like the foundation of a house; you can build a great place, but without a good foundation it's all coming down anyway. Pepicelli's pizza dough is like a bad foundation.
