Exactly last year I took my car for AC repair, they replaced compressor and store manager told me that I have warranty on compressor 2 years. So this morning July 2nd 2026 I noticed yellow puddle under car and AC compressor was soundly leaking. Quoted 1.5 hours for a standard tire install, but I ended up waiting 3+ agonizing hours. To make matters worse, when it was time to pay my $1,200+ bill, the manager (Kevin K.) flat-out refused to accept my valid Pep Boys eGift cards. He wouldn't even attempt to scan the barcodes, making up a fake "corporate policy" on the spot, and forced me to pay out-of-pocket with my personal credit card just to get my car back. Poor service. Mechanic was not ready to even ask my request. Even though i booked an appointment for oil change, mechanic said it will take around 1 hr. I was not prepared for that and cannot stay there for longer time. I asked the mechanic i need to leave and give me a call as soon as my car is ready. Unfortunately even after an hour i didn’t receive any call and while i was calling it was heading to IVR that none of the executive is free to take my call. Pathetic.
