I saw Dr. Penuel when it was just him in his practice. He did a colonoscopy and said I had Crohn's. Before him, I saw several doctors and was told it was my nerves. They did not do an colonoscopy or take the time to find out why I was so sick with a high fever, blood, and etc. Dr. Penuel is the best doctor and he saved my life many times.
Dr. Penuel performed my colonoscopy. Before procedure, he introduced himself & asked if I had questions or concerns. Felt like meeting a kind, friendly new neighbor. After colonoscopy, he discussed my results w/ my husband & me. Questions answered in detail, never making us feel rushed. Had appt w/ PA, John Washington, prior to colonoscopy. Very nice & thorough. Just got off ph with Bridge. She discussed problem I'm having & made me appt. Seemed genuinely concerned while upbeat & helpful.
I have been going to Dr. Penuel for IBS for over a year. He has been very upfront with his method of treatment, starting me off on a low "FOD" diet, eliminating foods with high sugar, gassy, and with gluten. In this time, I have actually learned how to control my problem with this diet and not with any medication. I needed to stay on track and he kept reinforcing his many years of experience and wisdom that ended with me losing 9 pounds during last year. I am thrilled with this outcome!
I felt very comfortable with Dr. Penuel right from the beginning. He truly listens, explains procedures clearly and is respectful of the patient. Great "bedside" manner.

Dr Penuel was one of the most impressive physicians I have ever met. I met him after being admitted from the ER and he sat down, asked me questions, listened to my situation and then gave me his assessment based on his vast experience and knowledge. And then he took extra time to reassure me & my husband to alleviate our fears of what might be. Both before & after my procedure, he was equally caring & impressive! Made my experience the best it could have been. Thankful for Dr Penuel.
Dr. Penuel has a great bedside manner which is very important to me. He responds to my questions so that I can better understand my condition. He listens with empathy and presents his recommendations with expertise and knowledge. His staff is very pleasant and cooperative. They show genuine interest and concern in you as a patient. I would definitely recommend Dr. Penuel to family and friends without hesitation.
