I was a resident in Penrose Square from Dec 2019 - Feb 2024. The Good: - Location is great and not too far away from DC. - One of the leasing agents (Tomma) and a few of the receptionists were pretty pleasant to deal with. - Maintenance quickly addressed any concerns The Bad: - I had more than a few unpleasant conversations with the leasing staff (Ryane the Community Manager and Mike). The only redeeming quality of this building in that the maintenance staff and the front desk staff are some of the friendliest people I’ve ever met. Except Ryane, the community manager, who has been rude, abrasive, accusatory, and the least helpful person in the building. Everything else about this building is terrible and it’s all due to the cheap company that runs it and their refusal to put any money back into the building that they charge pretty high rents for. I am currently a tenant in this building. My exterior door lock hasn’t worked for the last four days. I informed the management office about it. I stop by the office every day, and they tell me they will fix the issue for sure, but it hasn’t been resolved yet. I have lived in this apartment for more than two years, but this will be my last time. I do not recommend this place.
I Just receive an Email from Sassy Taylor stating that she had to cancel my application because Im not a single mother and on TANF but i qualify for the 1 bedroom she showed me my Unit just to tell me since i dont fall under that i cant lease an apartment. Im confused because that is discrimination that was never communicated in the beginning before taking all of my information. Ill be filing a Law Suit for Discrimination.
They have these events that happen on the weekend that make it so noisy and hard to sleep. Some people do work on weekends you know and have to wake up in the morning. Your own place should not be a place of unnecessary noise, you should be able to relax. This is an apartment building not a place of entertainment.
