We had a great experience with Penrod's on the Au Sable River. We had not been canoeing in about 20 years, but the staff was very informative and helpful explaining and showing pictures of where to make certain turns and where to get off the river at. It is unusual with this place compared to most other paddlesports rental places in that you launch here on site and get picked up downriver instead of being dropped off first and floating back to the rental place. 1st time canoeing at Penrods. Great experience. Friendly service from booking, the young lady at the desk, and the young man that took us to drop off the car since we had our own canoe. We will be back.
