I called them to assess a bulge in the wall in my home. The engineer who came out was practically a baby. He took photos and led me to believe the problem could be solved with star bolts. A few hours later, the baby engineer called me to inform me that my house was in imminent danger of collapsing and that they had notified City of Philadelphia's Licensing and Inspections Department. All from photos! We hired a second structural engineer who concluded that the house was NOT in imminent danger of collapse. The second structur... read more

**Had to fight for a late and incomplete report — avoid this company** Hired Penn Valley Engineering for a structural inspection and SEN report in Philadelphia. Inspection completed March 26, 2026, with the report promised in 5–7 business days. My check bounced. I immediately paid the full $820 via Zelle on April 3 ($785 contract + $35 good-faith returned check fee). They then tried to charge a **total of $85** for the bounced check (their own invoice only listed $50), still demanding an extra $50. When I questioned it, Brad... read more

I had an issue with my foundation, and after getting a few quotes, I realized I needed an unbiased opinion. I reached out to several structural engineer companies, but Penn Valley Engineering was by far the most responsive. I spent a while on the phone with Brad, and he walked me through their process and put me on the schedule. When Greg came out, he was happy to have my tag a long and answered any questions that I had. This company is professional, quick, and easy to reach. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone i... read more

Possibly a racist company. What’s most important to note about this company is that they express hostility toward foreigners in their own written words. Brad—next time you see a foreign name on a quote request, don’t reply. Stand your ground. Why work for, and take money from, people you claim to hate? I hired this company for an inspection. It seemed fine at first, but what was communicated—both over the phone and in writing—told a very different story. That part is on me for trusting what Brad said on the phone and not rea... read more

The Penn Valley team has been a pleasure to work with! We have basement wall support issues and needed a structural engineering expert to help us sort through the repair recommendations made by various firms looking to remediate the issue. Penn Valley was that expert. They explained what are issues were, described the remediation, and provided the appropriate blueprints. I highly recommend this firm before pursuing any remediation.
