I had a good experience. I was overflow from UPMC West Shore. I had been there 7 hours with no one to see me and others were at UPMC for 10 and more! I couldnt handle it anymore so I called Penn Health Hampden and fortunately they were able to see me right away. Good rhing too - my sugar was 360. Fortunately, my blood pressure was going down and they also treated my breasting issue was apparently gastrointestinal as they gave me pepcid and mylanta which immediately calmed my breathing, I was lucky it was a slow night -- I re... read more

The ER is a mess. They only have 1 doctor for the entire BUSY ER and that is not safe for either the patients or the doctor. They shove a bunch of PA's at you instead. Thats Pennsylvania's cheapskate answer to the medical crisis that is ABYSMAL here in PA. I didn't get out of the ER until 1130pm and arrived at 3:00pm! This could have been avoided WITH MORE DOCTORS!! The staff and doctor were mostly nice but again I blame the state and the hospital for cheapskate tactics on health care.
