Had to take my father there twice once the day after my mom died then again 4 days later. His heart was racing then dropping extremely low. First time we were the 5 people instantly were hooking him up and checking things out on him. Gave him am extra dose of his heart med and things calmed down and we went home. The second time this happened they didn't play around this time either and admitted him right away. My daughter received the best care here. The staff, nurse, and physician were very caring, personable, and they really listened. Having a student at Penn State, you need to know that they can easily access top notch care, and that’s exactly what they gave here . We left the ER with answers and a plan. Super fast and friendly! Very knowledgeable and got me diagnosed quickly. Got some steroids to hold me over with pain until I can get to my pcp and go from there. Thank you guys!!!
If I could put zero stars I would. I literally just left here 20 minutes ago. I sat there for almost 2 hours and not a single person checked on me. I got test results via text message and my discharge paperwork via text message. No nurse or doctor came in to go over test results or discharge paperwork. I had to press the nurse call button. Then I heard a nurse say "is someone in room three" before proceeding to check my room. At that point, they realize that someone was still in there and had not been discharged yet. Everyone is wonderful! I felt heard and my doctor, who i forgot the name of, was extremely kind and I felt heard. I felt that he was a great doctor who listened. I perfer this over the other emergency hospitals in state college. If you ever have an emergancy, I would go here.
