Please read bottom. I had to update after a horrible visit in 2025. My complaints lie solely with ER and I stand by what I said in my original post about the cancer center being amazing. They offer the best care available and the cancer center has a cutting edge radiation machine that is the best in the tri-state area. The nurses and other staff are always very compassionate and genuine. If admitted the food is also amazing for hospital food. I would never go anywhere else. I visited the ER with my 20 yr old, adult son yesterday for an issue he was having. We sat in the waiting room for 4 and half hours. Finally we were taken back. The physician came in. Never laid a hand on him, and diagnosed him with something rare, without any labwork, imaging, exam. When I questioned him, he snidely responded with “what did I want to do, expose him to radiation (testing)?” I should’ve spoke up then but at this point, there was no need. My girlfriend went here and dr mateo was very aggressive during her nerve test pressing on her arm with nerve needles roughing up her arm all these doctors only care about how much money a patient makes them instead of helping their patients

absolutely horrendous. go to washington if you need psychiatric care for yourself or loved ones. mentally disabled family member attempted suicide, we took her to be 302ed and they refused to 302 her because “her intentions were not to harm herself” argued on the phone with the woman for a little and they discharged her. a day later attempted again. mon valley is a poor excuse of a hospital, imagine if she succeeded in her attempt after being turned away from this establishment.

My husband was in A-Fib. The Emergency department was excellent, they left no stone unturned. He was admitted to 6 East. He had a private room with a recliner chair for me. Nurses Brittany and Taylor were attentive and kind. Dietary was awesome. Dr. Weimer in ED and Dr. Wahba on 6 were so thorough and their bedside manner was excellent. We were informed throughout the process and everyone was very caring and responsive to questions we had. His room was very clean and they made sure he and I were comfortable.
