About this business
Our names are Steve and Judy Penland. Our first Christmas tree planting was in the spring of 1966 and our first year of sales was 1972. As our family grew, our four children Shannon, Brannon, Allison, and Stephanie helped us perform the mowing, weed control, and shaping while growing up on the farm. ol' fashioned christmas - the way it should be What a great place! We wanted a balled tree for Christmas to plant in our yard after the holidays. Penland didn't have the type we wanted so we called on the morning they suggested and they went out an got a tree for us, balled it, and called us back. Great service! Even better is the free hot cocoa, candy canes, and fire pit to sit around. I do wish they would let you walk the farm and select which tree you want to have balled. First i would like to say that Steve and Judy Penland really know what they're doing.What a great place to see and visit.They have around 100 acres and most of it is just Cristmas tress.I have been going there for the past 5 years and really enjoy it.They have hay rides,hot cocco and coffe,and a bon fire pit for those cold days and u can also bring the family pet.My wife and i just had our first baby this past May and cant' wait to take hime out there to take pics.of him around all the trees and th... read more
Fun Family Times! My wife and I have been buying our trees at Penland for the last 5 years. I LOVE the quality of the trees and the awesome hospitality. You always feel welcome to have some coffee or some cocoa or to even roast a marshmallow or two. It's great fun for people of all ages. The staff is friendly and always willing to help! We can't wait to take our daughter to the farm this year!
