Deposited a cashiers check from an inheritance. Let the teller know that they could call the other bank to verify if necessary. First a small amount was made available immediately. Next day that was gone and the whole check was on hold to be released in 7 days. Then we receive a letter in the mail on the day funds were set to be released stating that they received “confidential information” that the check may be invalid. How about call the customer. I had a very disappointing experience with Gifty at the PenFed branch in Woodbridge. I attempted to ask a simple question about my debit card, and not once, but three times, I was interrupted mid-sentence with answers that didn’t address my actual concern. When I pointed this out, she dismissed it by claiming she already knew what I was going to say. That kind of assumption is not only unhelpful—it’s rude and unprofessional.
