I was shocked to learn that Pendleton continues to sell fur, even though it's clearly the product of a cruel industry. Animals on fur farms typically spend their entire lives confined to cramped, filthy wire cages, and fur farmers use the cheapest—and often cruelest—killing methods available, including suffocation, electrocution, gassing, and poisoning. Despite knowing that animals are beaten, electrocuted, shot, and sometimes even skinned alive in the fur trade, retailer Pendleton Woolen Mills, Inc., continues to sell items made from rabbit, fox, and coyote fur. The company's CEO says that he's not ready to go fur-free, but the animals are more than ready for him to make the change..
