Absolutely terrible and unreliable “medical staff.” If you need a prescription in a timely fashion you can forget about it. For some reason they have a 48 hour delay on prescriptions as part of their “protocol” IF they manage to get around to sending your prescription in a somewhat timely fashion they send it to the wrong pharmacy more times than not. New patient with Holly Thro and I’m so impressed. Excellent review of my medical history. Excellent MA support. On line service through MY Chart is excellent. I had always heard a lot of negative comments about PenBay but I’m very impressed! Exam was most thorough and productive and professional of any I received in the last 5 years at a different health care facility.
I’ve gone to penbay since I was a baby. I never had an issue when I was in the pediatric unit, but since switching to family medicine as an adult all I can say is, do not go here. I loved my PCP, but this office is terribly run. The staff are rude and nobody seems like they wanna be working there, they’re also extremely unaccommodating(doesn’t matter if it’s an urgent need, they will put zero effort into getting you an appointment). I haven't had a good experience at all with this doctor's office. Medical desicions are based on personal opinion here. I was even told by my primary doctor "I tell all my patients if they need more than basic medical care to move out of Maine". Unfortunately, I got stuck with this place because no one else within over an hour drive was accepting patients. You are better off not going anywhere than going to Pen Bay Family Medicine.
