Pelotonia exists to engage, inspire, and challenge a community committed to change the world by accelerating innovative cancer research. As a 501(c)3 not for profit organization, Pelotonia raises millions of dollars each year for cancer research at The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center - James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute. Pelotonia's operating expenses are covered by funding partners, so that 100% of every Rider raised dollar goes directly to fund cancer research.

I just finished my first Pelotonia ride today. My dad, Fred Schwan, was a patient at the James last year. Unfortunately his cancer was unable to be stopped, but the team at the James was the most amazing group of professionals I've ever met. The ride today was my way of honoring dad and thanking the staff at the James for their unending and unstoppable effort to cure cancer for good. I will be back for many more rides.....
I am overwhelmed and ever so grateful for the more than 8,000 riders in Pelatonia! As a very recent breast cancer survivor, I was moved to tears at yesterday's opening ceremonies listening to all the speakers tell their stories, including former Vice President, Joe Biden and his wife. My heart goes out to all the survivors and those still fighting the battle, as well as those who cancer took from us. A wonderful cause, a wonderful event. Well organized. Bringing together people who care about people and want to see a cure for cancer some day. I highly recommend that everyone gets involved..be it riding in the event, sponsoring someone who does.
