I had an emergency surgery, and I had some hiccups with getting the doctor to the er on a Sunday, however my nurse Clara was absolutely incredible as well as Dr. Barnes who advocated for me and provided INCREDIBLE patient care in a very scary situation. Clara went above and beyond and helped get me through 18 pokes to get an iv in and blood work.
I brought my mother into this ER after being seen in Newton ER five days prior. My mom was seen in Newton after falling down 7-8 concrete stairs and hitting her head on the concrete wall. Initially my mom mentioned left leg pain but it was not evaluated at Newton ER and no images were taken. Over the next five days she had increasing pain and bruising in that leg and it eventually got unbearable and concerning which is why she went to Pell. I have unfortunately been to many doctors and hospitals and Pella Regional is seriously the disney dream of hospitals. Everyone is so kind, compassionate, honestly the best bed side manner. Everyone is super nice and not fake nice but like they are good people. I was in a ton of pain today and caused a scene kinda and was swearing in pain and they still all helped and were kind. Very disappointed. Went in at 9:45pm to take our son in to be seen and we watched people leave and get taken in. Frustrating as a first time mom, just looking for some help, reassurance, and guidance knowing everything is okay because 104 fever in a baby is very scary. We left and went home to navigate it ourselves because we were told they didn’t know how much longer we would be waiting.
The staff was so understanding and kind to us. We are out of towners and felt right at home. So thankful for the care we received!!
