Went back down today after going there on the weekend, I have been having chest pains for over 2 weeks now. I was told I had anxiety and reflux on Sunday by the doctor there which I disagreed with. Then I ended up going to specialist outside of the hospital who diagnosed me with having pericarditis yesterday. I was told if my symptoms got worse go to the emergency department straight away, my condition got worse and I went to this hospital and was met my a very rude and uncaring triage nurse. Never knew the definition of emergency had 6 hours in it
So worried about the state of this emergency department and every single soul who has the unfortunate event and they end up here. I've ended up here a few times now and it's always the same ... Yesterday was my latest visit...omg it's getting worse... I had a bowel problem....not as bad as some in there and I was prepared to wait to let the people who needed help more then me be seen first... 5 hrs later.... My son was taken to hospital via ambulance with a severe headache & vomiting, he was quite disoriented, when we got there at 12pm we were told to wait in the waiting area as there was no bed , fast forward to 2pm throwing up and them giving him a anti sickness tablet , he’s still in pain with his head …. He’s 9 years old people were coming and going at 4pm I asked the nurse will the wait be much longer , she advised that there were sicker people being seen . Our experience at Mandurah Emergency Department was deeply disappointing. We arrived at 1:30 AM to a nearly empty waiting room, with only three other patients present. Despite this, the triage nursing staff were cold, unwelcoming, and showed no empathy. There was no greeting, no reassurance—just a clinical and indifferent approach. After waiting five hours, we were informed by a junior registrar that the X-ray had been taken of the wrong part of the foot.
