About this business

For Chinese food, make sure you have the number of this take out plus delivery joint. And that's not all. The dining hall here boasts of elegant decor complete with white table cloths et al. While ordering, stay within the boundaries of the Shanghai food section. Diced chicken with peanuts and hot pepper sauce is also a good bet. The sake selection too is worth exploration. Special attention is bestowed upon presentation and the service is well deserving of tips.

Great Neighborhood Chinese Food For a non-Chinatown restaurant, Pearl's has great food at reasonable prices. It's a neighborhood staple!

Absolutely the best Chinese restaurant in NYC. Hands Down. Highly recommend the prongs/scallops and my husband is obsessed with their chicken and black beans w/ mixed vegetables (custom order)! :)

Great take out – I decided to pick up one of the menus that people always stick in the door of my building. This place is probably the best Chinese food I ordered in from in the area. We got the Poo poo platter and the eight something dinner meal. I will order from here again.

horribly rude service-don't go – I have ate at pearl's a few times and always enjoyed the food. But recently I called in to place an order and got a really bad tone from the hostess. I'm a restaurant hostess myself so I realized how outright rude and wrong it was to give a patron such attitude. In fact, the couple of times that I have dined in...the waiters didn't seem to like their jobs much either. If you don't enjoy working in a restaurant, then don't work there... Do something else because at the end of the day, a little... read more

Avoid this place like the plague – We ate at Pearl's last Friday night and had a very bad experience. Normally the food is fantastic and the service is okay. Our friend from SF was in town and speaks Chinese fluently. The place was packed and the waiter was obviously stressed but he yelled at us not to "ask for anything" like soy sauce of vinegar as there are other tables too...it was very odd. Prior to that he had served us Cold Dumplings and we were very cool about it, our friend even conversed in Chinese with him....very ... read more

User review by tiggatash – I highly recommend this restaurant. Good first date place to take someone to get to new. The food is very good and the service is great. One of the best things about the place is all you can drink wine when dining in.
