Horrible record store at horrible prices – As a person who has been shopping around New Orleans record stores for the last few years, I find Peaches to be by far the worst record store in the city. I should probably start by saying I have only looked at records at Peaches and have never purchased one. Their prices are very high and I've found humor seeing used records for the twice the price I bought them at other local record stores when I purchased new copies. The stores selection is also very dull. Nothing that makes me f... read more

what currency rate are they using???? – Came here to buy a cd I saw in a magazine. First of all, I couldn't find anyone to help me find the section - one employee talking on a cell phone - and when I found it on my own the CD wasnt in stock. Asked when it might be in and employee said didn't know and walked away. Decided to look for another cd I'd been thinking about and found it (1994 release) for $29.99. No way I could afford it. Walked up the street to the other record shop and they had it for $9.99. I grabbed it. Same pr... read more

Good Selection, Good Prices – As a DJ whos been playing records at clubs, parties and events for over 20 yrs i can say that its good to see Peaches rockin it like they do. You can go into Peaches and find rare vinyl or new releases in wax or CDs. The prices are fair. you just have to dig to find it. If you go in there tripping you might not like it. I visit Peaches once a week to catch the new stuff before anyone else, cause peeps bring thier used stuff to sell. You got a huge collection of movies and music in all formatts s... read more

Beware of this store. – I was visiting my son here in NO, When we went to the French Quarter. I wanted to get him some music for his dorm room. Wrong place for that, the prices here where were absolutely ridiculous, their selection was the worst I have seen for a large multi-store and their staff knows nothing about what they have in their store. Only point they have is that the two men upstairs know more about music and movies than the rest of the staff and most people. It was a weekend and not very busy, I was able to get ... read more

This no-frills establishment is an important local hip-hop hub. – In Short A lot of local hip-hop talent became involved in music through their association with Peaches. The store specializes in vinyl for the DJ and re-mix crowd, including 12-inch vinyl and more cassettes than other smaller stores. But despite this recent shift to rap and hip-hop, Peaches still carries a considerable collection of classic soul, jazz and gospel. It is primarily a record store, selling only a small amount of music accessories such as disc clea... read more
