My husband got a hernia surgery about a year ago. After being thoroughly convinced by the surgeon that the mesh operation was the right choice , 99.9% guaraunteed that there would be absolutely no issues, and that he would "Tell my own son to do it", My husband got the mesh surgery to correct his hernia. The surgeon was great and did a great job, which is the most important thing. If I was reviewing the doctor it would have been 5 stars. The rest of the staff her leave something to be desired. They made me change my original appointment to a time that was convenient for them (was difficult for me to make it at the time but I made it happen to do them a favor). After sitting for 45 minutes in the room I was told that it would be at least another 15 minutes. I couldn't wait because I had to get back to work, so I asked to resc... read more

I just got off the phone with General Surgery. I was calling to see if I could get in to see a surgeon earlier than my currently scheduled appointment, because I ripped my hernia even more and am in a lot of pain. The caregiver on the phone was very short with me and did not listen to me at all. She said "the patient needs to see gastro? The patient needs a referral to gastro." I know that the health care industry has been hit hard with the pandemic over the last 2 years and with that it definitely seems to be lower stander of care that in now being provided. I was at an appointment with Dr Schoonmaker to have my ribs looked at, I had hurt them at work. When he walked in the room the very fist comment from him is ( A workmen's Comp claim, I hate workmen’s comp claims, they are so much paperwork).
