We were vacationing at Lakedale Resort and our 12 year old crashed pretty hard on my bike the first time out resulting in bloody gravel scraped knees and palm of one hand, his left knee was deep enough to possibly require stitches. This was a Sunday and I wasn’t expecting anyone to be open, I found out from resort staff that there was an ER open 24/7. We went here and the staff took amazing care of our son. I recently found myself in a complicated medical situation, and the level of care I received at Peace Island was outstanding. Not only did they move quickly and compassionately, but they also managed everything in-house—avoiding the need to transfer me elsewhere for surgery. I had a terrible experience at Peace Health Medical Center two weeks ago now. I had called my insurances nurses line and they told me to go to the ER. I went in, calmly explained why I was at the hospital and than the doctor on call came into the room annoyed sat across the room in one of the patient chairs, arms crossed and said “so why are you here” I explained the situation and how I had vertigo early in the week and couldn’t walk.
