Do yourself a favor and avoid this company. On 2/27/26, I arrived at LaGuardia Airport and went directly to the designated shuttle pickup area. After waiting about 15 minutes, I called customer service to confirm the shuttle was on the way. The operator instructed me to go back inside the lobby and “make a right turn.” However, airport security would not allow me back inside and directed me to remain at the shuttle station. Absolutely, the worst the website says look for Payless shuttle buts it’s AVIS. You have to wave the shuttle down? Just a terrible experience.
Worst experience I have ever had renting a car! Waited over an hour to receive my car when I made a reservation. Everytime I asked the front desk for an update I was told they’re still filling it up at the pump. It does not take over an hour to fill up a gas tank. They showed no concern or urgency at all! Will never rent from here again.
Absolutely unacceptable experience with Payless Rent A Car. My credit card was stolen and fraudulently used to rent a vehicle through this company. Basic industry practice requires verifying that the name on the credit card matches the renter’s ID. That clearly did NOT happen. Because of this failure, my card was charged $2,167.82 for a rental I never authorized and have zero connection to.
