Trash. Tried charging me $450.00 for smoking in the car….I truly don’t even smoke cigarettes lol.
Terrible Experience – Avoid Payless Car Rental Despite booking well in advance, we ended up waiting over 3 hours for our vehicle. As a result, we missed other holiday bookings, which completely disrupted our plans. To make matters worse, Payless refused to offer a refund if we skipped the booking or take responsibility for the delay. Completely unacceptable and unreliable service. Not recommended
Use this car company at your own risk. No representative at counter should have been a sign. Car broke down 3 days later (7 day rental contract). The towing service took all day (reported at 10 am, picked up at 5:45 pm) and Payless agent insisted that we stay near the car. So....a whole wasted day. I called the Sacramento Payless number on the contract...but it was not working. I then called the 800 national number who told me I needed to call the Sacramento number. Too many unnecessary fees. They said $12.99 toll fee for 3 days then they charged $38.97. Only 1 driver but they charged an additional driver $65. Do not recommend
