Dr. Salkin was an excellent psychiatrist and an incredibly warm and caring human being. I am sad at the loss and will miss him very, very much.
I called his number only to reach a answering machine saying that he has passed, sept 12. My condolences to his family. He was a kind and helpful man. my only confusion is how to access records now ?
I've been seeing Dr. Salkin for several years and he is a wonderful doctor and person. He cares and it shows. He shepherded me through the pandemic crisis in a gentle and effective way. He's the best psychiatrist I've had through Medicaid. He knows his medicine and will work with you to get a medication regime that works for you. I'm sure you will be very pleased to have Dr. Salkin as your psychiatrist.
Worst physician in the world.
Dr Salkin schedules way too many patients in a given day. I've been a patient for quite a while and it's the norm to wait anywhere from 45 min to 2 hours. Dr Salkin is a nice man, but has no respect for his patient's time. He will always answer his phone during your appointment which is just rude. Lastly, he has no assistant and tries to do everything by himself which doesn't work, as a result, the majority of my time in his office is spent going over billing questions with my insurance. Willing to take new clients when most ppl won’t so that’s a plus. But you do wait like an hour to be seen after your appt time. There is a sign in the waiting room saying that if you are late, you wont be seen though. So you cant just waltz in late to cut your wait time. I almost had an anxiety attack in the actual appointment when he was very insistent about stuff that was not going to work for me. Instead of de-escalating, he just kinda built up the tension. Not great for ppl w anxiety.
The absolute worst. Consistently overbooks appointments to the point where waiting over an hour is the norm. Then he is a babbler and doesn't really come off as adding any insight whatsoever. Would give 0 stars if that was possible.
