Immediately following my parathyroidectomy Dr Gauger repeatedly told me everything had gone great. He said he had removed all the parathyroid glands. But my calcium levels never came down. He never would speak to me after that. His nurse was his mouthpiece, telling me over and over that it would take time for the PTH and calcium levels to come down, maybe months. While my initial experience with Dr Gauger was fine, it took a turn for the worst when my hyperparathyroidism returned a mere six weeks after the surgery. I had a parathyroidectomy with Dr Gauger in September 2024. Everything appeared to go well and the surgery seemed successful. Three weeks after the surgery my bloodwork was normal and I felt great - it was as if a wet blanket had been lifted off of me. The brain fog was gone and I wasn’t fatigued. Dr. Gauger is incredibly professional and knowledgeable. Great bedside manner and really took his time with us explaining results, tests, procedures and after-care. We have recommended him to several friends and family members who have also had the same positive experience.
Wife had thyroid surgery with gager at the post op appointment he dismissed her question told her her symptoms were not due to the thyroidectomy. But weirdly everyone else on his team said that all these symptoms were all related to the surgery. He told her that he would humor her and take blood I'm not sorry you don't humor a patient you listen to them when they say there is a problem you get paid to fix it he couldn't care less told her to see her PCP from now on about any issues.
