Completely unprofessional doctor and staff. He wouldn’t respond to many inquiries through the patient portal, his staff didn’t know how to process paperwork with BCBS, and he rushed through appointments. Cost me so much time and money because he and his staff didn’t know how to navigate the healthcare system. Go elsewhere!!!
Dr. Ringel is a fairly-good doctor in a lousy practice. That being said he is reluctant to refer for a second/expert opinion on certain conditions. I had to visit a second doctor within the practice to get a referral, and that is to an out-of-network provider --which I think speaks to Advocate's lack of specialists. The Advocate Medical Group, of which Dr. Ringel is a member, is just awful. You must deal with a telephone switchboard whose main purpose seems to be to create delay & confusion.
Dr. Ringel is very competetent, patient, and explains to you your condition, symptoms, and options in a way that is understandable. He treats you like you are a valuable human being worthy of being healthy. Because Dr. Ringel won't rush through a diagnosis or explanation, there are times that you may have to wait to see him though.
It is not easy to find you doctor and it usually takes two weeks to see him. You feel he is always in hurry and don't have time for you.
