In September 2016, we purchased a to-be-delivered Forester from Patriot’s North Attleboro location, executing a contract specifying the car’s VIN number and price and offering a deposit on our credit card. When the car arrived at the dealership in October, Patriot suddenly demanded we pay an additional $1000 above the contract price. When we refused to be shaken down, they reneged on the contract and sold our car to another buyer. I was out of the country and wanted to line up a car in the Portland area for my return. I contacted these guys by email and chose a car from their used listings, a Pontiac Vibe with 48k miles. After some back and forth, I offered a price of $9500 and the dealer accepted it. I was to wire her a deposit the next day as agreed. But then, apparently, they got a better offer, because the next day the car had mysteriously been sold.
