The Doctor is great. The back office people...they clearly need some training. The back office claim they sent in pre-authorization but request yet nobody can see it but her. Cohere health cannot see it, Humana cannot see it, the hospital cannot see it..just her. ?? Because of this a very crucial appointment for my dad needs to be rescheduled.
I became a patient of Dr. Vandehey a long time ago after Dr. Baker went into semi-retirement and I was transferred to Dr. Vandehey when Dr. Baker reduced his patient load. Dr. Vandehey has been a good doctor and as others say here, always takes the time to listen to me. I complained of some slight chest pains this year. Dr. immediately had testing done which showed blockage of my coronary artery. His office called me immediately and sent me to a Heart surgeon who took care of my issues. I'm healthy and enjoying life today.
Dr Vandehay is a pretty good doctor but his PA Theresa Compton has some of the worst “bed side” manners I have ever had the pleasure of experiencing due to her I will be changing primary care doctor after 10+ years with Dr Vandehay.
My wife and I have been seeing Dr. VanDeHey for more years than I can remember. His care is very patient-centered, evidenced by the time he takes talking to and examining us. His care and treatment have ALWAYS been effective whatever ails us. Staff is great too! Wife and I are considering moving, and our first concern is proximity to Dr. VanDeHey - this is our family doctor, and we highly recommend him.
My father went to Dr Van De Hey complaining of chest pain 3 weeks ago, he sent him for an X-ray (not a cardiology consult, not a stress test). My father is over 60, already on cholesterol med, mildly overweight and came in complaining of CHEST PAIN!! He had a heart attack last night. 95% blockage in his LAD (widow maker). He could have died. I couldn’t be more disgusted with Dr Van De Hey.
Dr. Van De Hey has been caring for me for many years and has always been caring and accommodating. He listens to what you say and he is not leaving the room as soon as he enters it. Always listening, responding and caring....
I have been a patient of Dr. VanDeHey since 2000. He is a very caring and has an amazing memory. His new office is comfortable and the staff seem very happy.
He is the best Doctor in the downriver area. He is so kind and he listens to his patients. He spends a lot of time with you.
