I was referred to Dr. Johnston by Dr. Belshaw. I called to get a consult for a small cyst removal, smaller than a dime, so that I could get an estimate for its removal. I was told that the consult alone was $500 for a cash payment!!! In my case, a consult would take less than two minutes as it had already been diagnosed by Dr Belshaw. That comes out to roughly $15,000 an hour. Absolutely insane! Even the poor receptionist acknowledged that it was ridiculous. I strongly encourage anyone planning to mangle an upper limb to do so as close to Steamboat and Dr Johnston as possible!

Dr. Johnston was most professional and caring in my initial visit. Got right down to testing my hands and arms, including an ultrasound. He confirmed carpal tunnel surgery is warranted, and that will be happening very soon. He was also mentoring a CU Med intern during our visit, and making comments about my diagnosis to her as we progressed. Great to have a teacher as my caregiver! Jeffrey Wingate
