This is our 2nd visit to 'Paradise' & that is just what it is. Located on Singer Island, it is smack in the middle of all kinds of neat places to eat, shop, enjoy the beach & water sports. Allen, the owner and his staff members George & Jimmy make you feel not like travelers, but rather like visiting royalty. Update: We stayed here 3 years ago. Great location 2-3 blocks from public beach. We noticed that this location has had many updates. The best part of this vacation rental is the reasonable price for a laid back quiet clean place near the ocean. Friendly, accommodating and helpful staff. We decided to have my husband’s weekend birthday celebration at the Patio Island Resort because they have easy access to the beach, BBQ’s and a wonderful Tiki Hut with tropical bamboo furniture that was so comfortable. What a hole! This place is such a haven for losers and drug addicts. I think everyone their has just been released from prison. The rooms reeked of cigarette smoke and even after switching rooms, it was more of the same. Old out dated furniture with broken TV's and horrible bathrooms. I tried to get a refund but the owner refused. I left and lost out on 3 nights I had already paid for just because I was afraid of the criminal element. Not a safe place for adults let alone kids. I've been coming down to Singer Island for five+ years and always stay at Patio Island (mostly because of the friendly owner, Allan.) The rooms are cozy and most importantly CLEAN (I'm a freak about clean sheets!) It's also an easy to walk to the beach / shopping / food. I now have a 6 month old daughter and can't wait to bring her down in March to enjoy the sunshine... and the tiki hut on the property.
