Our past experiences at BCH have been largely positive but during our last stay we encountered some difficulties resulting in the need to reach out to patient relations for the first time. Our experience working directly with this department has BLOWN us away. For a supposed in-network hospital, unbelievable costs!!! My 10 year old was referred here bc he felt pain in his testicle and we took him to a Care Well walk in clinic which did not have an ultrasound. We had no choice, or perhaps should wait while he is crying in pain. We went to the Boston Children. There they took one ultrasound, said he had a common condition at his age and it shall resolve on its own. Then we got the bill!!! Apparently as part of our very expensive PPO with United, we have to pay 25% of all billed cost... read more
