The staff and house members mean well, the sense of brotherhood was phenomenal. However, the house was filthy, poor structure in all aspects from the bottom up, including admissions, discharge, and group activities. I was discharged today, but was told I could not get my Suitcase and clothes after AMA (including my personal meds). I thought the latter was concerning, follow up phone call they denied, and also denied access to my emergency contact for pickup even though I explicitly said this. I was a client here, they used the same cookie cutter addiction treatment program with extreme emphasis on the 12 steps and no alternatives ever discussed or even mentioned. I see they mention "dual diagnosis" on their website but I only ever met with a counselor that was a former police officer that got sober through the 12 steps; our counseling sessions were focused on the 12 steps which had already been forced upon me for a decade and never appealed to me or worked for me. Not to share too much of My Son's history but it has been many rehabs from Malibu and beyond. It is not the zip code the foundation of care and people have been wonderful. Want to give a shout out to Dane what an inspiration He is. No matter what happens now in His life you He has hope again and that is such a blessing.Thank You and God Bless I would highly recommend .
