If you can avoid visiting this doctor do it. The office manager is AWFUL, RUDE, DISRESPECTUL and INSENSITIVE. We had to go in for a second opinion with this Dr. It was right after seeing our OBGYN and they made us pay the full consult cost because they did not have "time" to run our insurance and the manager said she would refund our money once the insurance paid. I would urge any expectant parent to avoid Dr. Priya Patel’s office. My husband and I endured two weeks of unnecessary heartbreak and pure "panic mode" due to their medical negligence, lack of compassion, and total lack of bedside manner. If I could 0 stars I would beware of this practice their only in it for the money besides being incompetent. I went to a different MFM and she told me I have a short cervix and referred me to Dr. Patel he told me I needed to get a cervical cerclage because my baby is in danger and could come out prematurely. It was wrong on my part for not getting another opinion just hearing the words you fear the most makes you do about anything to protect your child. Worst experience with office staff and Dr ever. My first pregnancy I felt as though this doctor kept wanting to have me come back so repetitively without really needing to. But because it was my first pregnancy I followed the recommendations. Second pregnancy and was referred to this same office again for my 20 wk appt and immediately they began trying to get me to come in ever 2 wks when I didn’t need to come in so often. I strongly recommend seeking a second opinion when receiving medical guidance from Dr. Vinu Patel. Based on my personal experience, I did not feel confident in the care or recommendations provided. I ultimately chose to consult with another physician, and that decision made a significant difference for me. Because of my experience, I would not personally recommend this provider. I encourage others to trust their instincts and always get a second opinion when something doesn’t feel right.
