I did my own research on endometriosis and found Dr.Shefali through google. I explained my concerns and was just prescribed meds. Endometriosis topic was brushed off and was told surgery is a waste of time because she didn't think I had endo. Come to find out I actually did and it was confirmed by a 2nd opinion. If I was actually heard the first time just maybe it could have been caught in earlier stage.

The reviews about her being cold are true. Not sure if that’s just her personality but her bedside manner is not the best (coming from a future nurse and currently working at a private practice). For someone who specializes in Endometriosis, the only option she really gives you is birth control - which had the worst side effects for me. Was rude to my mother (a different discussion i won’t get into) and when i ask for my medical records they sent 1 page. I was seen more than once and you only have one page? Finally, a doctor who listens! I was so impressed by my visit with Dr. Patel-Shusterman! She was thorough, asked questions, didn't rush the visit, listened to my concerns and made me feel validated and not dismissed. Most of all Dr. Patel is kind, personable and knowledgeable!
