I went to Pasadena Stamp and Coin Company for the first time this weekend after talking to Josh on the phone about 5 times. I needed to get some coins and stamps that I inherited appraised. I felt embarrassed that I had such large and disorganized collections (about 3 shoeboxes worth) and I know very little about coins and stamps, having only been to one other appraiser. I've dealt with Pasadena Coin for almost 10 years, and with Josh for 7. I write and teach about gold. While you do have to be careful when shopping for coins, I've been treated well by Josh, and his prices have been fair. Whoever the other nasty reviewer is, somehow I'd bet he's got a competing coin store. Too bad such creeps exist. Pasadena Coin is fine.
I've been going to this place for over 25 years ! Josh is an honorable guy... I don't care what these idiots say about this establishment or why they olug his competion either !? You judge him for yourself that his fair, honest and solid as they come.
Everything about this place was terrible, the experience, the man behind the counter who im assuming is josh, by previous posts. You know i used to love comming here as a youth with my father. the old guy that used to run it was sweet and kind. and was very interested in youth coin collectors. and he was an honest man to boot. but unfortunately that man has since passed on. and the burden of running the shop fell on some thief that is loosely affiliated with him. do not waste your time with this guy. its not the same shop it used to be. go somewhere else this guy does not care about you or what you're looking for.
Alright so i went in there a few days ago to buy some silver and compare prices and what not and i saw him buying a teenagers grandfather coin for 15 dollars because of its "poor condition" this being said it was clearly of a higher grade, and its weight in silver alone should haveat least been 20 dollars plus. a thief thats all im saying
i went there with the intention of spending a ton of money but he was busy with an appraisal of some lady selling silver, and after he haggled her prices down and offered her the bare minimum for only about half of her pieces i jokingly asked her if she was willing to sell any of them to me. the owner flipped out started yelling and being belligerent. terrible customer service. and i found out today he overcharged me for some merchandise that i purchased there.
