This New Orleans institution has such a wide-reaching reputation that even President Obama has sampled its offerings. Come here to get your hands around a poor boy (or po'boy) sandwich, a Louisiana traditional submarine sandwich. The sandwiches come in all varieties, from barbecued beef and charbroiled hamburger to grilled shrimp and oven-cooked turkey. Whatever you try, it's sure to be uniquely delicious.

My parents took us to the old Parkway Bakery most of our life growing up. When I was a young Mother I took my children too! We LOVED it--the old Parkway!!! My whole life every roast beef poboy was judged against those old (very vivid) memories. I can say I was so very disappointed with the "New" Parkway---it's NOTHING like the original----NOTHING!!!!!!! How sad, I can't believe the people that own it now have EVER tasted a REAL Parkway Bakery Roast Beef Poboy!!!!!! I won't be returning. FYI-- the closest to the original is B... read more
I don't care what The Food Network says...Parkway serves the best poboy to date. This place is hidden and really hard to find, but when you get there...the treasure unfolds. Another good thing is that they are open every day except Tuesday. Don't go to Domilise or New Orleans Hamburger & Seafood...come here. It's just so mouth watery.
Iowa girl falls in love with Po Boys As a first timer to New Orleans I was taken to Parkway Bakery for a Po Boy as it was a food I knew I had to have while in NOLA. I was not disappointed. The shrimp po boy was so stuffed with shrimp I could not begin to finish it. The shrimp were crispy and the breading was out of this world. I had it dressed, because I wanted to have the full experience and I was not disappointed. Since I have been back in Iowa I have craved po boys from Parkway Bakery and that is the first place I plan on... read more
Parkway Bakery & Tavern – sehr zu empfehlen top
Pretty good Po Boys, I would go back again if in the area.
Best Poboys – Parkway has the best poboys in the city. Hands down. Period.
Best po-boys in the city I agree that the Parkway serves the best po-boys in the city. Don't forget your forks and napkins when getting the roast beef, the juices will drip and there's so much you almost can't eat it like a sandwich and have to use a fork. The decor is fun with new orleans history and landmarks.
Parkway Bakery & Tavern is the best! In my opinion Parkway Bakery & Tavern has the best Po-boy in New Orleans. Considering the fact that po boy sandwiches originated in NOLA and there are many restaurants that serve them, this is quite an accomplishment. Not only is the food great, but the atmosphere is nice also. The employees are friendly, and they seem to treat all customers like regulars. If you are in New Orleans and want a great po boy-go to Parkway! I realize that many out of town visitors to the city tend to spend al... read more
