I was treated the night of July 3 for a blood clot in my leg. Doctor, Nurse and Imaging techs provided excellent care. They consulted with a Radiologist and a Vascular Surgeon to take care of my issue. My family and I have always receive very good care at Parkland.

Parkland may find it helpful to provide cognitively engaging age-appropriate activities for the people in the ED that have autism. I frequently observe the sitters telling these kids to go back in their room absent of much success. Have a BCBA set up something along with other teachers to support this need. In addition, train your ER mental health sitters to not make direct eye contact or get in a back/ forth or comment when the patient starts making rude comments etc. Teach your sitters how to block a light kick too. Doctor was great. I did not love being on a gurney in the middle of the emergency room, right in front of the doors where ambulances dropped off patients. It was really unsettling and quite unsanitary. Nurse that had administered tetanus shot was nice but did not caution against having prolonged difficulty with the shot, which I have had. She said it would be over in a day or two, which was not accurate. My primary care physician said most people experience symptoms for a week or more.

Last couple times I went to the ER at parkland medical center they got me in and out and found out what was wrong with me very quickly The people were polite I was very satisfied The nurses and the doctors make you feel right at home 🏡 would definitely recommend them to everybody
