There is a road to the parking lot but it has not been maintained in some time with many large trees having fallen over the road. Making it impossible to get much past the spring creek trail head, even in an off road worthy 4X4 truck. If you want to you can walk up the entire road like I did to get to the summit lake trail head though just fine.
Small parking lot near the Summit Lake Trail. All grass and no facilities. Tough road getting in, the more clear ace on your vehicle the better. Was thankful for my 4x4 pickup, but there was a small SUV in the parking area.
