A park of great historical value, the Parkin Archaeological State Park is a former site of villages that were set- up at the convergence point of St. Francis and Tyronza Rivers. This site gives an insight into the Parkin Phase, and excavations and research processes are still conducted here. Visitors get to catch a glimpse of the various on-going excavation and exploration projects conducted here.

Super educational, outstanding staff, very knowledgeable. The facility was groomed and kept. The museum was inviting, educational, well put together. I was not disappointed with the overall take away from this stat park. It was most exciting to know that through time other civilizations has built onto of the past one. I loved the cemetery, mounds, and school. I do recommend this park to people of history enthusiasts. Thank you for the experience.
Stopped here after running an errand to Wynne. Glad I did.
Beautiful small state park, the whole site takes about 40 minutes to walk if youre doing so slowly. The visitors center is nice and showcases some of the artifacts found on the village site. If youre in the Memphis area and looking for a spot to walk around outside of the city id recommend trying Parkin.
