About this business
Joe believed that good food at a good price would bring folks in. He was right. We feel the same way. We still use only fresh ground beef and fresh chicken (and we're still using Joe's original Famous Fried Chicken recipe). The famous Parkette sign was built in 1957 and is a symbol of Lexington and stands as a monument overlooking New Circle Road., ready to serve all that pass by. The sign itself is a landmark and a point of reference for this section of the city.

The food was great! The little cook ( I do believe his name was James) worked his end off cooking running food back and forth to customers making sure everyone was happy! He truly is what made the experience the best! It's hard to find great service like he was giving, and Parkettes should be thankful to have such a dedicated employee there!! We love this retro restaurant!! Great atmosphere, friendly service and the food is delicious!!! We drive an hour just to eat here!!! Worth the drive!!!
The atmosphere is totally retro, really a terrific looking establishment. We had seen a segment on our local PBS channel that had really made us want to try the place out. That being said, however, my food ( The Poor Boy Burger) was pretty bland. My daughter's fried chicken was excellent though. Staff was fairly indifferent, not at all attentive, and never offered a drink refill. Server just tossed the check on the table and that was that. I've not been to your establishment very often, and visited for the second time just last week. Charity was our carhop last week, and was so friendly, the food was so good, and prices reasonable...so we came back this week. We got lucky and Charity was our carhop again last night! We were so happy to see her smiling face. When Justin came out to deliver the Colossal Car Crash we ordered for dessert, he was just as friendly. Thank you for the wonderful service and a pleasant dining experience!
Great food! Went with,the Poboy and rings but wish I'd tried the tots...maybe next time!
This drive in/diner is definitely worth all the hype! I've been here a handful of times now and never leave disappointed. I recommend it to all my friends. Oh! And make sure to save room for dessert!
